Mission
DW Finishes exists to bring craftsmanship, creativity, and integrity back into home finishing. After years of watching construction companies cut corners on the details that actually matter, I built this company to do the opposite. My mission is to create premium, art driven finishes supported by my masters level fine art background that are executed with patience, precision, and pride.
Every project is a chance to turn a home into a piece of art, never rushed, never sloppy, and never just “good enough.” I blend advanced visual art training with skilled trade work to create spaces that feel intentional, expressive, and built to last. I am not here just to paint walls; I am here to elevate homes with design driven craftsmanship that homeowners can feel proud of and that I can feel proud to put my name on.
Dan Winter
I’m Dan Winter. I started in construction back in high school working with my shop teacher, then studied art at Point Park and spent my summers painting and working on job sites. I earned my masters in fine art at George Washington University while taking on painting work, art handling, and fixing gallery spaces to pay the bills.
After school, I moved into multimedia and marketing for construction companies and eventually joined a Design/Build company, where my art background and construction experience finally merged. I designed decks, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and full-scale outdoor spaces.
Now I run DW Finishes, bringing that unique mix of art training and hands-on building into every project.
